Growing up is a funny thing. One minute you are a carefree fairy, twirling in a pink tutu and click-clack shoes and the next, you are picking Universities, finding a house and buying small appliances. Where did the time go? You get to a point where you are expected to act like a grown-up, no more tantrums or crying over spilled milk…but you still feel like a child. This week I feel I have reached a crossroad in my life. I’ve started renting a flat, been to a job interview and bought a kettle. This butterfly is wiggling uncomfortably in her cocoon, terrified to leave but knows she can’t stay.

Remember when label makers were the latest and greatest invention? We’d go round slapping stickers on just about everything. The coolest kids in school were the ones with all of their colouring pencils labelled. I never did own a label-maker, but boy was I jealous of my friends who did.

I’m baaaaaack! I can’t say I’m too pleased about this though. Ten leisurely days of sunbathing, beach runs, afternoon naps and swimming can do that to you. Today I’m bringing you one of my favourite desserts…’nice’ cream. That’s ice cream made entirely out of bananas. I promise it’s even better than it sounds! I don’t know about you…but down under in NZ, summer is finally starting. Like it’s actually hot enough that I don’t need my electric blanket on.
