Product review- Ceres organics almond butter

Hi friends!

I should probably start by apologizing for my strange post earlier this week. If you hadn’t noticed yet (you are very unobservant) I am a bit technologically challenged. Anyway I signed up for Bloglovin to share my blog with more people and to find other excellent bloggers. If you have a minute I highly recommend checking it out!

Today I’m sharing another incredible product with you. This one is particularly dear to my heart. It’s 2015…I believe the new saying should be ‘almond butter is a girl’s best friend.’ Can I get an amen? In case it’s not clear, I am a massive nut butter fan…some would say I am an addict (I’m not. I can stop anytime I want.)

Lunch inspo

Hello friends!

You know how when you go to a restaurant and there is always that one person who takes forever to decide what to eat…then changes their mind three times?

Yeah…well that’s me. So I normally take the liberty of browsing the menu before going out. Unfortunately  the other day my dear mother told me the name of the wrong restaurant, and so all of my efforts were to no avail.

Just Hummus

Hey friends!

Things aren’t going so well. If any of you follow Grey’s Anatomy, you are probably fully aware of the tragic, untimely death of Derek Sheppard…a.k.a Doctor Mcdreamy. The terrible episode just aired in NZ, and even though I was prepared for it…I’m not ready to live in a world without Mcdreamy. So here I am, drowning my sorrows in a glorious pile of hummus.

Creamy pear smoothie

Hello friends!

I am currently the laziest human being on earth. I have just spent the past two weeks lounging on the couch reading and pottering around the kitchen. I’m finally free of the shackles of study and I intend to enjoy every last lazy second of it. So hopefully you will be seeing more of me again. As my welcome back present to you, I’m sharing my new favourite creamy pear smoothie recipe.

Zucchini fritters

Hello friends!

This week I’ve been riding the emotional rollercoaster that is Uni life. We have exams in two weeks, so to say everyone is feeling a little tense is an understatement. The stress is building and I’m afraid no amount of caffeine and chocolate are going to cure it. So this weekend I’m taking a break from the Big City and have gone home to get some perspective (and more food.) Also, I’ve got a delicious zucchini fritter recipe which is just calling your name… Continue reading

Monday must-reads!

Hi friends!

We are currently facing unbelievably bipolar weather here in Auckland.

When I got up this morning the sun was shining, birds were singing and I was pretending I didn’t have a chemistry test tomorrow…so I decided to go for a run. Half way through, the sky let loose and by the time I got home I was drenched from head to toe. Then what do you know, two minutes later the sun was streaming down once more.

So I give up. I’m just gonna sit inside with my cup of tea and fluffy socks, and dream up some more recipes to share.

Vegetable soup is good for your soul…

Hi friends!

It has been far too long! I would apologise, but I’ve just made it through test week hell, so I feel that I deserve your sympathy. In my absence it appears that Autumn has slinked in quietly and made itself comfortable. Do you know, I have been itching to bundle up in scarves and fluffy jumpers since the first signs of leaves falling. However, Auckland has been tossing and turning, tirelessly between two seasons (phew, now there’s a tongue twister.)

Well, as unreliable as the weather may be, there is something about Autumn that calls for soup. Because, lets face it, soup at any other time should just be when you are sick. So bearing that in mind, I thought I’d share one of my favourite soup recipes with you.

‘Jumble-berry’ crumble

Hey friends!

This week marks the end of life as I know it! As of tomorrow I will be living in the big smoke, starting university.  I can’t say I’m really prepared (I only just found out I am meant to bring a duvet) but in all fairness I’ve watched swallows try to leave their nest and they struggle (flap and cry) just as much as I am. Then there is always the conundrum of what to take with you.  I’ve definitely over-packed…but most of it is food, because God-forbid I should starve! Anyway, amongst all of this madness I bring you a slice (more like scoop) of comfort, in the form of jumble-berry crumble. Continue reading
