Aioli, zucchini super salad

Aioli zucchini super salad

Hello friends!

Growing up is a funny thing. One minute you are a carefree fairy, twirling in a pink tutu and click-clack shoes and the next, you are picking Universities, finding a house and buying small appliances. Where did the time go? You get to a point where you are expected to act like a grown-up, no more tantrums or crying over spilled milk…but you still feel like a child. This week I feel I have reached a crossroad in my life. I’ve started renting a flat, been to a job interview and bought a kettle. This butterfly is wiggling uncomfortably in her cocoon, terrified to leave but knows she can’t stay.

Pumpkin soup, romance and rugby madness

Hello friends!

I’m the first to admit that I am a hopeless romantic. It’s pretty obvious considering that my favourite movie is Pride and Prejudice (and not just the inauthentic Hollywood version either…I’m talking the extended BBC classic one.) So you would think that having watched a few too many rom-coms I would be fully apt in dating and other such flirtatious shenanigans. Wrong. Magical overnight oats

Hello friends!

I am in a particularly joyful mood as this has been the best week of the whole year. We have had ‘Secret Admirers’ week…which is basically an excuse to go nuts and stalk people (or show your undying affection.) If you know anything about me… it should be my absolute delight in giving gifts (apart from the food obsession of course.)

Pesto cannellini bean pasta

Hi friends!

I’m back at uni again this week. I’m already wondering what I’ve got myself into. My week involved getting another nasty injection, going to the wrong lecture and a rather gruesome rat dissection. So, to forget about all that and set the tone for the weekend we are taking a trip to Italia today. You need to try this recipe!

Lunch inspo

Hello friends!

You know how when you go to a restaurant and there is always that one person who takes forever to decide what to eat…then changes their mind three times?

Yeah…well that’s me. So I normally take the liberty of browsing the menu before going out. Unfortunately  the other day my dear mother told me the name of the wrong restaurant, and so all of my efforts were to no avail.

Just Hummus

Hey friends!

Things aren’t going so well. If any of you follow Grey’s Anatomy, you are probably fully aware of the tragic, untimely death of Derek Sheppard…a.k.a Doctor Mcdreamy. The terrible episode just aired in NZ, and even though I was prepared for it…I’m not ready to live in a world without Mcdreamy. So here I am, drowning my sorrows in a glorious pile of hummus.
