I am in a particularly joyful mood as this has been the best week of the whole year. We have had ‘Secret Admirers’ week…which is basically an excuse to go nuts and stalk people (or show your undying affection.) If you know anything about me… it should be my absolute delight in giving gifts (apart from the food obsession of course.)
Why don’t we do this sorta thing more often? My heart would probably burst haha. Speaking of hearts…we have been learning the ins and outs of them in class this week. We learnt that we do in fact have heart-strings, I don’t know if anyone else finds that cool…but I did.
Anyway my rambling was not what you came for. I have a delicious recipe to share with you. These oats are absolutely magical. They will turn you into a morning person. Yes, you too can be one of those perky, smug people who has done the laundry, gone for a run and watched 3 episodes of Castle before the sun’s even up. It’s all in the breakfast I’m telling you!
Magical overnight oats:
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 banana
- 1 small apple, cut into little cubes
- 1/2 c rolled oats
- 4 dates, cut up
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 c milk
It’s as simple as placing everything in a jar in the fridge overnight. Bright and early the next morning with eager anticipation you can add whatever toppings your heart desires. I went for banana, coconut, goji berries and granola.
So don’t be telling me you don’t have time for breakfast! Have an awesome weekend.
