10 fail-proof ways to beat a bad mood

Hello friends!

Sometimes life is tough. Things happen, you miss opportunities or people reject you. It can leave you feeling a little beaten down and empty. You can really learn a lot about people in these moments. Are you the moping around in your fluffy socks watching Downton Abbey type? The hardcore fighter with the ball of rage in your belly? Or do you run from your troubles?

Hi friends!

What comes to mind when you think of Christmas? Is it the hum-dinger of a turkey browning in the oven? The fairy lights twinkling on your withering old tree? Or perhaps it’s the sweet marzipan icing on your Mother’s Christmas cake? To me, Christmas is many things…it’s the excitement of unwrapping mysterious packages, it’s the joy of pulling crackers and telling ridiculous jokes (and looking equally ridiculous in your paper hat) and it’s the wonderful blissful happiness of being surrounded by those you love the most.

The spiritual significance of food, body image and healing

Hi friends!

This post is a little different than my usual motivational Friday message. You see, I’ve been thinking lately that you only really see half of me. There is a big part of my life which I was afraid to talk about until now…I need to share about my faith. In all honesty it’s a difficult post to write. It can be easy to be swept up in the human nature of pandering to your ego and allowing your head to get so big you can’t fit through doorways.

Hello friends!

Growing up is a funny thing. I’ve started renting a flat, been to a job interview and bought a kettle. This butterfly is wiggling uncomfortably in her cocoon, terrified to leave but knows she can’t stay.

How do you love yourself when you don’t like yourself?

Hello friends!

Sometimes there are people in your life who you just can’t stand. For no particular reason, this person just gets under your skin. Or perhaps there is a very good reason for your distaste towards this person. Unfortunately, as this is the real world and not some cartoon where you can zap them away, we must put up with these people. So we smile, grit our teeth and get on with it. But what do you do when you feel that way about yourself?

Hi friends!

I’m writing to you from the comfort of my own home once more. You are probably excited to hear about all the awesome adventures I’ve had since finishing exams. Well I’m sorry to disappoint, but my life as a free woman has been rather dull. Unless you find binge-watching ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ loafing around in pjs and baking muffins particularly thrilling. However, don’t leave just yet…I do have a rather fantastic recipe for you today!

What nobody tells you about recovery

Hi friends!

Disordered eating is no longer an uncommon issue in peoples lives. So many of us are confined and restricted by the rules we inflict on ourselves to reach society’s ridiculous standard of beauty. Unfortunately, the transition from disordered eater to recovery is not all smooth sailing. In fact, it can be frustrating, exhausting and degrading. However, the struggle is worth it, in order to emerge whole once more and to begin truly living!
